Gigantic stairways from the sea to the city of Odessa. They were originally known as the Richelieu steps. Standing on different places on the stairs give very different and unexpected views of the sea, port and city.

The stairs are 142 meters long and 22 meters wide. The original 200 steps were designed in 1825 and in 1837 it was decided to build a “monstrous” staircase.

The stairs became world famous in the film of Sergei Eisenstein: ” The battleship Potemkin”.
